Our schools are the heart of our community, but after decades of use, our current facilities are no longer equipped to meet the demands of a modern education. This building renovation project is a vital investment in our students’ safety, accessiblity, and academic future. By upgrading our aging infrastructure, including outdated HVAC systems, roofing, and boiler systems. This will help the district transition from costly ’emergency fixes’ to routine maintenance and more cost effective replacement cycles.

Update on Hooksett School Facilities
It has been a busy week back in our school buildings, highlighting the challenges of maintaining aging facilities.
- Monday: Staff arrived at Hooksett Memorial School to find there was no heat or hot water. Thanks to the quick response of our Maintenance Director, Dean Farmer, the boilers were restarted and temperatures were raised enough to keep school in session. An outside HVAC contractor (ENE) was also called in to repair circulating pumps.
- Tuesday: An HVAC unit in the cafeteria at Hooksett Memorial School failed, requiring ENE to return for additional repairs. This marked the third heat-related failure at Memorial School within the past year.
- Wednesday: A sprinkler pipe near a sprinkler head in the 6th-grade hallway at David R. Cawley Middle School began leaking. The hallway was closed, and 6th-grade students were relocated for the day. Our administrative team coordinated classroom relocations, contacted our fire suppression company for repairs, and notified the Fire Department as required.
The School Board recognizes that our district facilities are aging. Two years ago, the Board established a Facilities Committee to evaluate building conditions and help guide long-term planning.
